Rock the ‘Burg will be Sept. 15.
The Schellsburg Lions and the Schellsburg and Old Log Church Historical Society are holding a Rock the ‘Burg event Sept. 15 at the Schellsburg community park. The event will include cornhole and horseshoe tournaments, a cruise-in, games, food, basket raffles and a talent show. The talent show will have two levels — ages 12 and over and children under 12. Entry forms for the talent show can be found at www.facebook.com/SchellsburgRocktheBurg or by emailing email@example.com. There is no entry fee. Registration is due by Sept. 2.

The Bedford Fire Department will sell the sausage from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon, or sold out, at the fire hall, 244 W. Penn St., Bedford.
Activities planned at Blue Knob State Park.
The park will host a “Hoot for Owls” program at 7 p.m. Friday at the Buck Hill amphitheater, a presentation on “Melt and Pour Soap Wrapped With Nature-Inspired Materials” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the amphitheater and a “Turtles of Pennsylvania” program at 10 a.m. Sunday at the amphitheater. Dr. Merilee Anderson will teach participants how to make melt and pour soap at the Sunday program.
Bedford responders are in need of donations of water and Gatorade.
Bedford Area Ambulance and Bedford Fire Department need to replenish their supplies after Monday night’s fire in Cumberland Valley Township. Donations can be taken to the ambulance hall at 130 W. Vondersmith Ave., Bedford.
