Bedford Fire Department’s fund drive begins April 2.

Volunteers will start around 5 p.m. targeting the area west of Bedford Borough. Other areas will be visited April 8 through 11. An item Friday said the drive was to start on March 15.

The next Build the Beef Barn event is scheduled.

Build the Beef Barn is hosting a 200 Club fundraising dinner on March 23 at the Bedford American Legion. There will be a dinner with wings and spaghetti, basket raffle, and games of chance. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased at the Bedford Fair Office (9 a.m. to noon), Long’s Outpost, New Paris, or by calling Kay Kring, 839-4491 or Traci Guyer 285-6880.

The new Bridge Choir will hold a St. Patrick’s Day Community Service Sunday in Bedford.

Bedford Presbyterian will host the event that will feature an orchestral ensemble, bagpipes, Irish instruments, drama and congregational singing starting at 6 p.m. For more information, call 814-623-6891. Refreshments will follow the service. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The Players will host a 36th Season Announcement Gala.

The Bedford County Players will host the event at The Hall at Kinton’s Knob, Bedford County Historical Society building, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. March 16. Tickets are $15 each. Call 623-7555 to reserve tickets. The evening will be a black and white themed gathering. Players and patrons are advised and encouraged to wear black and white, semi-formal attire. Singers from the Bedford County Players will provide live jazz and Broadway style music. The directors of the upcoming season will gather and announce their shows.

An annual cleanup is scheduled.

The 18th Annual Bobs Creek Spring Cleanup will be held March 30 from 8 a.m. to noon. Participants should meet at the pull-off along Route 869, between Weyant and Pavia, at 8 a.m. Register by emailing or by calling 285-7741. The annual event is sponsored by Bob’s Creek Stream Guardians and Pavia Sportsmen’s; Pavia, King, Lincoln and East St. Clair townships; Keep Bedford County Beautiful; Blue Knob State Park; and the Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania. Wear boots or water shoes and dress appropriately.
