ALTOONA — Chestnut Ridge scored nine runs in the first inning and rolled to an 18-3 win over host Bishop Guilfoyle, Thursday.

Chestnut Ridge got 20 players in the game with 13 getting hits. Isabella Giovanelli had two hits and four RBIs, while Tori Gutshall had two RBIs. Isabella Wingard, Lexyn Corle, and Zoie Dunlap all scored two runs.

Lexyn Corle and Shelby Sabo both pitched with Corle earning the victory.

The Lady Lions will host Richland on Friday at 6 p.m. in Pleasantville.

WILLIAMSBURG – Claysburg-Kimmel’s softball team avenged a loss from earlier in the year by topping Williamsburg, 5-1, Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the fourth, a run in the fifth, and two more in the seventh to put the game away.

Claysburg took advantage of two Williamsburg errors in the fourth inning to score the two runs. Four of CK’s runs came with two outs.

Sierra Walters got the win on the mound with no earned runs, seven strikeouts, and no walks. She retired the first nine batters and did not allow a hit until the fifth inning.

Rebekah Claar, Harleigh Cavender, and Haileigh Reed all had two hits for the Lady Bulldogs

SAXTON – Tussey Mountain’s Alayna Clark threw a one-hitter and struck out 17 batters in an 11-3 win over visiting Northern Bedford, Thursday.

Northern Bedford took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the Lady Titans answered with four in the bottom of the first, two in the second, four in the fifth, and another in the sixth.

Clark, Karli Lucko, Faith Brown, and Abbie Weaver all had two hits for the Lady Titans. Clark, Lucko, and Brown all scored two runs, while Breanna Goodman, Brown, and Abigail Neff all drove in two runs.

Tussey Mountain will host Berlin on Monday, while Northern Bedford will be home against Everett on Tuesday.
