The Bulldogs led, 20-11, after the first quarter, but the hosts outscored the locals, 28-8, in the second quarter to secure the victory.

Kyle Glass led the locals with 22 points. Wyatt Buell scored 18 for the Bulldogs, while Parker Dibert added 13.

WATERFALL — The Everett girls’ basketball team put Monday’s 61-17 win away in the first quarter against Forbes Road.

The Lady Warriors opened the game with a 21-2 run in the first quarter.

“We played a very good post defense tonight, only giving up six points in the paint,” said Everett coach Keith Moyer. “Our kids are really playing well right now, and we continue to get better. I was very pleased with how we played offensively — spreading the ball around tonight and making the extra pass to open shooter.

“Annie Nave did a terrific job defending their post players and finished with 10 rebounds and four steals.”

Kaitlyn Maxwell led the night with 25 points, in addition to seven steals and five assists. Lainie Treece added 11 points.

Everett hosts Tussey Mountain on Thursday.

JOHNSTOWN — Westmont Hilltop ran away with the game after the first quarter in Monday’s 72-46 decision against Chestnut Ridge, Monday.

The Lady Hilltoppers held a narrow 17-13 lead after the first quarter, but outscored the Lady Lions, 14-8, in the second quarter.

“We played good in the first quarter but we didn’t respond well to their press,” said CR coach Steve Donnelly. We turned the ball over too much and that was a problem.”

Belle Bosch paced the locals with 20 points, while Madelyn Hyde added 11.
