WILLIAMSBURG – Claysburg earned its first victory of the season with a 25-7, 25-11, 25-19 sweep at Williamsburg, Tuesday.

Harleigh Cavender had 22 service points and 14 assists, while Rebekah Claar had 14 service points and three kills. Emalee Cavender added 10 service points and five kills.

The JV won with a sweep as well, 25-12 and 25-13.

Bishop Carroll 3, Bedford 1

EBENSBURG – Bedford’s volleyball team opened the season with a tough loss a Bishop Carroll, 3-1, and scores of 30-28, 23-25, 25-20, 26-24, Tuesday.

Riley Stahlman had 17 kills, while Natalie Lippincott had seven kills and 13 assists. Raquel Imler had 18 assists, six aces, and seven kills for the Lady Bisons.

Cambria Heights 3, Chestnut Ridge 1

PATTON — Cambria Heights bested Chestnut Ridge, 25-22, 25-17, 18-25, 25-16, Tuesday.

Isabella Hillegass led the team with six kills. Riley Frankenberry had 28 digs and six assists, while Zoie Dunlap added 14 digs, and Alaina Lafferty posted eight assists.

Laura Albright added 20 digs and five kills.

Chestnut Ridge, 0-1, visits Central Cambria on Thursday.
