WARFORDSBURG — The Everett softball team swept Southern Fulton in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

The Lady Warriors needed three innings to win the first game, 17-0. They needed four innings to win the second game, 15-0.

In the opening game, Cloe Price and Ella Hinish scored three times, while Olivia Hillegas, Katie Price, and Makenna Richards all scored twice.

Cloe Price and Richards both had three hits, with one of Price’s being a double.

Hinish, Hillegas, and Lainie Treece each recorded two hits. Hillegas had a triple as well.

Hillegas was in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Warriors. She allowed one hit in the game and struck out nine.

In the second game, Hillegas hit a grand slam in the first inning. She scored twice in the win and had three hits and six RBIs.

Emily Browning also scored twice.

Katie Price and Lexi Martin both had two hits for the locals. Cloe Price and Treece both recorded doubles in the wins.

Brynna Fox was the winning pitcher. She allowed six hits and struck out four.

Everett hosts Southern Huntingdon on Thursday.

FISHERTOWN — Chestnut Ridge powered past Bishop McCort, 14-3, in varsity softball action, Tuesday.

Isabella Wingard, Isabella Giovanelli, and Lauryn Calhoun all scored twice for the locals.

Wingard led the team with three hits, while her younger sister Maya Wingard and Zoie Dunlap both had two hits.

Dunlap started the game for the Lady Lions, pitching two innings. She struck out four. Maya Wingard pitching the final three innings to earn the win. She struck out five.

Chestnut Ridge visits Bishop Guilfoyle on Thursday.

WATERFALL — Despite jumping ahead to an early 3-0 lead, Tussey Mountain felt to Forbes Road, 10-5, in varsity softball action, Tuesday.

Alayna Clark, Karli Lucko, and Breanna Goodman all scored in the top of the first for the locals, but the Lady Cardinals scored four runs in the third inning, and two runs in each of the next three innings.

Goodman and Cara Benton scored in the seventh inning for the Lady Titans.

Clark and Goodman both had two hits for Tussey Mountain.

Tussey Mountain hosts Northern Bedford on Thursday.

THREE SPRINGS – Southern Huntingdon picked up a sweep of a doubleheader by beating Northern Bedford, 13-3, in five innings and 5-0, Tuesday.

The first game was close until the Lady Rockets broke open the game with a six-run fourth inning.

Deerin Davis and Makayla Kochara had two hits apiece for the Lady Black Panthers.

In the second game, Hattie Flood threw a three-hit shutout for the Lady Rockets.

Northern Bedford will be at Tussey Mountain on Thursday.
