BELLWOOD — The Northern Bedford boys cross country team toppled Bellwood-Antis, 19-39, Tuesday.

The girls narrowly fell to the Lady Blue Devils, 27-30.

Ian Zimmerman and Ian Sherlock finished in the top two spots respectively. Zimmerman won with a time of 17:05, while Sherlock posed an 18:44.

Northern’s Hunter Horton was fourth, 19:50, while Josh Strayer rounded out the top five, 19:55.

Emilee Sherlock was the highest placing finisher for the Lady Black Panthers, finishing third, 25:18. Danae Hershberger was fourth, 26:52, and Harley Socie was fifth, 27:29. Hailey Bollman also finished sixth overall for the locals, 29:00.

Northern Bedford runs against both Williamsburg and Central next Thursday at Central.

SIDMAN — The Foundations Christian Academy cross country team ran against Forest Hill and Richland, Wednesday.

Victoria Plowman finished 16th overall in the girls’ race with a time of 29:37. Reece Moyer was 11th in the boys, finishing in 21:39.

There were no team scores for the Eagles.

Ohler runs for Hyndman at Meyersdale

MEYERSDALE — HOPE for Hyndman’s Bruck Ohler ran for the Hornets on Wednesday, finishing 16th overall against Meyersdale and North Star.

North Star’s Emily Coddington won the race with a time of 22:22. Ohler’s finish was in 37:32.

There were no team scores for the Hornets.

The Bedford varsity girls’ and boys’ cross country teams beat Cambria Heights and fell to Central Cambria, Wednesday.

The girls won 17-46 against the Lady Highlanders, while the Lady Red Devils won, 23-36.

Savannah Nesbitt was the highest placing Lady Bison, finishing third overall in 21:31. Meah Eshelman was fourth, 22:18.

The boys won 17-40 against Cambria Heights, but fell to the Red Devils, 20-43.

Van May won the race for the Bisons in 18:26.

CRESSON — The Chestnut Ridge cross country teams ran against Portage, Penn Cambria, and Bishop McCort, Wednesday.

Chestnut Ridge Calan Bollman won the boys’ race in 18:01. The Lions yielded only four runners, one short of a complete team, thus for no team scores.

The Lady Lions won, 24-31, against hosting Penn Cambria, but narrowly fell to Portage, 26-29.

Ava Whysong finished fourth for the locals, 23:52.

“Calan ran great for the boys’, winning first place overall,” said Chestnut Ridge coach Jason Tew. “The rest of our boys all ran good times in this heat.

“The girls ran great as a team. Ava led the way, finishing fourth overall. The rest of the girls ran together as a group and were able to push each other. I’m excited they were able to get wins against McCort and Penn Cambria.”
