McCONNELLSBURG — Everett’s Trenten Mellott allowed only two runs and the Warriors rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat McConnellsburg, 6-2, Tuesday.

Mellott struck out nine, walked one, and gave up only one earned run.

Everett scored three unearned runs in the fifth inning to take a 4-2 lead, and Karson Reffner hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning to push the lead to 6-2.

Sid Grove had three hits for the Warriors, while Reffner and Dalton Shaw both had two hits and two runs.

Everett will be at Bedford on Wednesday.

Bedford exploded with 14 runs in the second inning to cruise past visiting Bishop Carroll, 17-2, in four innings, Tuesday.

The Bisons had a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run from Jared Dowey.

The Huskies got a run back before the Bisons batted around twice in the second inning. They got six walks and were hit by three pitches to go along with seven hits to score the 14 runs.

Mercury Swaim had three hits, while Joey Koontz had two for the Bisons.

Bedford , 2-2, will host Everett on Wednesday.
