Alum Bank

Mrs. Wilda Lee (Barnes) Dailey, 85, of Quaker Valley Road, Alum Bank, peacefully passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Wilda was born in Brandonville, W.Va., on Aug. 17, 1935, daughter of the late Glenn and Helen (Younkin) Barnes.

On Oct. 28, 1953, Wilda married Charles “Bud” Dailey. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2018.

Wilda is survived by son, Vaughn, Houston, Pa.; son, Dana, and wife, Deborah, New Paris; son, Dale, and wife, Georgia, Austin, Texas; daughter, Nina, Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren: Jesse, and wife, Ange; Danielle; and Dylan; and stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wilda was also preceded in death by her brother, Wendell Barnes.

Wilda was a member of the Alum Bank United Methodist Church, where she served as president of the UM Women and where she taught Sunday school. She was a former member of Chestnut Ridge Ambulance Association and served on the Alum Bank Election Board.

Wilda was an avid cat lover and enjoyed collecting and restoring antique bicycles. She loved the outdoors and working in her garden. Wilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She was a woman of faith and lived a life serving others. Her kindness and her compassion for others will be greatly missed by all.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville.

A funeral service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, with Pastor Shane Siciliano officiating.

Interment will be held at Salem-Thomas Cemetery Brandonville, W.Va.
