Steven A. Shuss, 68, of Everett passed away on Friday, Nov. 20, at Pennknoll Nursing Facility.

Steve was born on Jan. 24, 1952, in Everett, a son of the late Daniel B. and B. Marie (Creps) Shuss.

He is survived by three brothers: Daniel, husband of Susanne, of Lititz; Mark, husband of Florence, of Altoona; and Sam of Everett; a sister, Betsy of Everett; two nieces: Becky, wife of Greg Grossman, and Danielle, wife of Dan Wittmaier; a nephew, Daniel; and six great-nieces and great-nephews: Reggie Grossman, Noah Grossman, Elizabeth Grossman, Micah Grossman, Amelia Wittmaier and Penny Wittmaier.

He was a 1970 graduate of Bedford High School and also attended the rehabilitation center in Johnstown, now called the Commonwealth Technical Institute at the Hiram G. Andrews Center. He was employed at Hedstrom in Bedford as timekeeper and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., as a clerk.

He was born with spina bifida, and he was actively involved with the Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania throughout his life. He spent his last 20 years as a resident of Pennknoll Village, where he loved visits from friends, family and animals.

Steve enjoyed his pets, singing, laughing, reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching television and movies, traveling, and sports, especially baseball and fast-pitch softball, and keeping score for several local teams, including the Bedford American Legion baseball team in its formative years.

He was a lifelong member of the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren.

There will not be a public viewing, and a private burial service will be held with the Rev. David Grimes officiating at the Everett Cemetery.
