High View, West Virginia

Olive Marie Clark, 102, of High View, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019.

She was born Thursday, Jan. 25, 1917, in Everett, a daughter of the late Walter Levi Brallier and Olive (McFarland) Brallier.

On Nov. 13, 1936, in Cumberland, Md., she married William Clair Clark who passed away on Nov. 29, 1997.

She is survived by their son, David C. Clark and wife, Barbara, of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren including Pam Tucker-Painter with whom she lived; 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and many loving cousins, nieces nephews and their families.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in passing away by two daughters, Shirley G. Bircher and Carol McKinney; an infant sister, Janet Brallier; a sister, Martha (Clark) Woy; and six brothers: J. Andrew Brallier, James W. Brallier, Richard Brallier, Clarence D. Brallier, Clair K. Brallier and Bernard K. Brallier.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Tatesville United Methodist Church, attending various Methodist churches throughout her lifetime and was a graduate of Everett High School.

In her younger years Marie, as she was known to her family and friends, worked as a waitress at the Bedford Springs resort and then was a seamstress at Lion Manufacturing in Everett until retiring.

An avid gardener, Marie loved to grow flowers around her home, especially red roses and star lilies, and also kept a vegetable garden for cooking and canning. She was talented with many crafts, among them embroidery, tatting, crocheting and making tailored clothes for her family and by herself, built a glass room onto her home for growing and caring for indoor plants. With a joyous welcoming, Marie hosted many holiday and celebration dinners at her home, always wanting to keep her family in touch, no matter where they traveled, and was a loving and dedicated, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15, at 1 p.m. at in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, 22 West Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Patrick Traxler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
