Lester C. “Mike” Foor, 87, of Bedford, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1932, in Breezewood, a son of the late Rev. Ellis Coy and Annie Mae (Wilkinson) Foor.

He is survived by three daughters, Gena Miller and husband, Gary, of Breezewood; Sheri Foor, of Windber, and Lita Foor, of Cody, Wy.; two grandchildren, Tabitha Fritz and husband, Brian, and Preston D. Miller; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Miller and wife, Jennifer; Sierra Foreman and Braedon Fritz; and special friend, Annie Davis.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel P. “Billy” Foor, and two sisters, Edna E. Foor and E. Leone Foore.

Mike served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. He then drove truck for Kramer Brothers Trucking, Bollman Charter Service, and then purchased a school bus fleet. Mike was a school bus contractor for the Chestnut Ridge School District for many years before retirement. In his later years, he found great joy and companionship in his dog Prince. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Mike’s “special girls” and “outside buddies” at Pennknoll Village.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Terry Majors officiating. Burial at Pavia Cemetery.
