Lena Bell (Miller) Beck, 93, of Chaneysville, went to be with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 22, 2020, at home with her daughter, son and grandson by her side.

Lena was born on April 25, 1927, in Cumberland Valley, Pa., to the late Harry Miller and Dolsie (Berry) Miller. Lena was also preceded in death by her husband, Elden Beck, in 2015 after 70 years of marriage.

Lena had a passion for cooking and baking. She also loved to garden, mainly planting flowers; red roses and sunflowers were her favorite. She was a devoted member of the Chaneysville Community Church; she loved music, and animals. Lena was known for her tenacious spirit, her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate soul.

Lena is survived by her two children: Gloria Jean (Beck) Naill and Joseph “Steve” Beck and wife, Mary Jane (Trail) Beck. She also leaves behind her grandson whom she loved dearly, Jesse W. Naill.

Lena was also preceded in death by her sisters, Nina Thompson and Minnie Ruby; her brothers, Floyd Miller, and Richard Miller; her brothers-in-law: Denver Thompson, Louis “Tag” Beck, James Austin Beck, Harold “Buddy” Beck, Olie Teeter and Dexter Beck; and her sisters-in-law: Montre (Beck) Teeter, Delores (Shreves) Beck and Mem Beck. Lena was the last member of her immediate family.

Lena is also survived by sisters-in-law: Betty (Beck) Miller-Davis, Geraldine (Harden) Beck, Karen (Cogan) Beck, Betty (Growden) Beck-Cassell and Shirley (Wharton) Beck; her nieces: Judy (Thompson) Trail, Shirley (Thompson) Logeston, Rhonda (Beck) Husick, Tonya (Beck) Newron, Karen (Beck) Gilmore, Robin (Beck) Roland, Diana (Miller) Mearkle, Anita (Beck) Fisher and Tracy Beck; her nephews: Cody Thompson, Denny Thompson, Delbert Beck, Darin Beck, Terry Beck, Dennis Beck, Jimmy Beck, Olie Teeter Jr., Greg Teeter and Albert Ruby.

A remembrance service will be held at a later date to be determined at Chaneysville Community Church, with Pastor Jonas Smith officiating. Flowers (artificial preferred) or donations (payable to Gloria or Jesse Naill) may be sent to: 4105 Chaneysville Rd. Clearville, PA 15535.

Lena’s family would like to extend their immense gratitude to the Conemaugh Hospice Program, especially Carolynn and Brenda, for their wonderful care, kindness, and concern; the Bedford Veteran’s Administration; Dr. Kim and Dr. Virginia Magbojos for their care.
