George H. Lehman Jr., 90, of Everett, passed away on Sept. 10, 2019, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on July 17, 1929, a son of the late George H. and Mary Louise (Cessna) Lehman.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wanda (Clark) Lehman; son, George, of Potomac, Md.; niece, Beth (Lehman) Garner, of Martinsburg.
Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by a daughter, Joie Ann; and brother, John C. Lehman.
George was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1947 and began working for Exxon at Sideling Hill Plaza. He retired Oct. 1, 1985, from East Freedom Bulk Plant, which after he and Wanda moved to Avon Park, Fla., where they became avid golfers. They were members of the Congregational Christian Church, with Paul Gettinger minister, where George served at an usher. He served as a director at Pinecrest Golf Club. They returned to Everett to spend their remaining time with family.
George was also interested in hunting with friends in his younger days.
At the decedent’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating. Burial will be held privately at Union Memorial Cemetery. The family requests in place of flowers, memorial contributions be made in memory of George to the First Christian Church, 57 Providence Street, Everett, PA 15537.
