Elaine Medasie

ClaysburgElaine M. Medasie, 74, of Claysburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday Oct. 14, 2020, at home.

She was born March 22, 1946, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Walter K. and Vivian M. (Burket) Feather.

She married Jay C. Medasie on Oct. 29, 1966, in King.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Penny Poorman and husband Brad, of Chambersburg; a son, Paul Medasie and wife Teresa, of Claysburg; and three grandchildren: Samantha and Jeremy Medasie and Arica Poorman.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Charles Feather.

Elaine was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and assisted her husband in his ministries at the church.

She was a 1964 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and was a self-employed author, writing several Christmas plays and Christian books. Elaine also assisted her husband at Claysburg Pizza. She enjoyed writing, traveling, baking, photography and spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 480 Emmanuel Drive, Claysburg, PA 16625. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 17, 2020, at the church, with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. Interment at St. Mark’s Cemetery, King.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Claysburg Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 292, Claysburg, PA 16625.
