HyndmanEarl Howard Clites, 76, of Hyndman, passed away Thursday Oct. 15, 2020 at Allegany County Nursing and Rehab.

Born March 16, 1944. in Cumberland, Md., he was a son of the late Earl Chester and Doris Maxine (Lepley) Clites.

He is also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth A. (LePere) Clites; and a sister, Martha Clites.

Howard had worked at Kelly Springfield Tire, Valley Trucking and Cumberland Concrete. He also owned and operated Clites Service Station in Hyndman. He was a graduate of Catherman Business School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a faithful member of Gravel Pit United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, Fort Bedford Antique Car Club, Teamsters, and the Hyndman Masonic Lodge 589 F&AM.

He is survived by a son Stacy Clites and wife Jean of Hyndman; a daughter, Amy Jordan and husband James of LaVale, Md.; grandchildren Ashley Clites, Cassandra Fagan and husband Antonio; Zachary Clites; Courtney Bruck; and Lucas Bruck and wife Haley; sisters Elizabeth Miller and husband Robert of Bedford; Catherine Troutman and husband Rich of Hyndman; Rose Allison and husband Randy of Hyndman; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home Inc., 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Fred Zickefoose officiating.
