Debra A. Simpson, age 63, of Bellwood, formerly of Martinsburg and Saxton, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning March 25, 2020, at home after an extended illness.

She was born September 1, 1956, in Huntingdon the daughter of the late Fred A. and Anna L. (Womer) Baker.

She married James P, Simpson on April 28, 1979, in Saxton and he died February 4, 2020.

She is survived by 2 sons, Christopher M. Simpson and wife, Melissa of Bellwood and Tyler F. Simpson and wife Rochelle of Bellwood; 11 grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dianna Miller of Woodbury; a niece, Rachel Reffner; and a nephew, Douglas Reffner.

Deb was a member of Saxton United Methodist Church, where she had previously served as choir director and had recently been attending New Life Alliance Church, East Freedom. She was a 1974 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School. She was previously employed as a waitress at several area restaurants. She enjoyed attending her son’s sporting events, spending time with her grandkids, and going to the beach. Deb had previously ran on the ambulance for the Saxton Volunteer Fire Department.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family; Pastor Ed Jelliff officiating. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be made in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Saxton. Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
