Charles L. Miller

BedfordCharles Lewis “Chuck“ Miller, of Bedford, formerly of Chaneysville and Sterling, Va., passed away on May 12, 2020 at Pennknoll Village, Everett.

Chuck was born on July 26, 1939, in Chaneysville, a son of the late Emery “Lewis“ and Hilda (McElfish) Miller. He graduated from Everett Area High School in 1958 and was married to Hope Dianne (Kisamore) Miller on July 26, 1963, at the Grace Lutheran Church of Clearville. She preceded him in death on Nov. 2, 2010.

Chuck lived and worked in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area from around 1959 until he and Hope retired in 1999. He worked in the home construction industry, performing drywall hanging, finishing and point-up work. His attention to detail in his work was one of the things that he was proud of and most known for.

He loved sitting and talking with friends and family, having many stories of growing up in Southampton Township, hunting, working in his garden and always enjoyed a good Western on TV.

He is survived by two sons, Gerald Eugene and wife Kathleen (Terrell) Miller of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Wayne Alan and wife Lisa (Cooke) Miller of Rochester, Minn. He is also survived by a brother, Virgil D. Miller and wife Lorraine of Cumberland, Md., a sister-in-law, Carolyn Kisamore of Martinsburg; along with granddaughters Brittany Noel Miller and Jordyn Alexis Miller of Shepherdstown, WV. (Another brother, Earl Eugene Miller and sister-in-law, Joyce (Dicken) Miller preceded him in death.) Several nieces and nephews also survive. An infant sister preceded him in death. He was a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all.

Private funeral services will be held with burial at the Everett Cemetery with Pastor Milton Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
