Calvin J. Childers, 72, of Eichelberger Road, Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at home.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1948, in Sandy Run, a son of the late Chester and Emma (Spahn) Childers.

On Feb. 27, 1970, in West Virginia, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. (Foor) Childers.

Along with his wife of 50 years he is survived by stepson Kevin Foor, married to Nina; granddaughter Kristen Foor; two great-grandchildren; siblings Phillip Childers, married to Rose, Hopewell; Chester Childers, husband of the late Beverly, Everett; George Childers, married to Barb, Hopewell; and Dennis Childers, married to Dixie, Saxton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two children, Tammy and Bradley Childers; and a sister, Paula Hicklin.

Calvin was a member of Round Knob Church of God.

He was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1967. Calvin was employed at New Enterprise Stone and Lime for 30 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working with his brothers and spending time with family. Calvin always enjoyed helping others.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating.

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678, and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. We ask that those in attendance would follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and following social distancing.

Burial will be held at Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run.
