C. Thomas Weaverling


C. Thomas Weaverling, 84, of Bedford, died on Friday, July 12, 2019, at his residence. He was born on Nov. 14, 1934, in Bedford, a son of the late Charles E. and Goldie P. (Mowry) Weaverling. On Oct. 17, 1959, in Winchester, VA, he married Margaret “Peggy” (Cessna) Weaverling who survives along with the following family: three sons, Randall T. Weaverling and wife, Christie, of Everett; Timothy C. Weaverling and wife, Bobbi, of Bedford, and Thomas C. Weaverling and wife, Michele, of Darnestown, MD; three grandchildren: Chase, James, and Maren Weaverling; and one sister, Dorothy Nave, widow of Roger of Everett.

Thomas was self-employed and worked with his father as a carpenter, building many homes in Bedford County. He enjoyed hunting, playing in softball and baseball leagues, and was a Boston Red Sox fan. Tom won the national championship in small bore competition.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be private.
