Bernice M. Diehl, 88, Vassar Drive, Edwardsville, Ill., formerly of Manns Choice died at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at Liberty Village, Maryville, Ill.

Mrs. Diehl was born in Lorain Borough, Cambria County, on Jan. 16, 1930, daughter of the late Cletus D. and Bernadine (Imgrund) Suttmiller.

On March 29, 1952, Bernice married Stanley “Pee Wee” Diehl. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1995.

She is survived by daughter, Deniece A., wife of Karl Bogle, of Edwardsville, Ill.; grandson, Matthew T. Bogle, of Greenville, S.C.; granddaughter, Beth (Bogle) Van Beek, of Greenville, S.C.; great-granddaughter, Makinley; great-granddaughter, Elliece; great-granddaughter, Audrey; great-granddaughter, Vivienne; brother, Donald Suttmiller, of Everett; brother, John Suttmiller, of Enid, Okla.; brother, Cyril Suttmiller, of Enid, Okla.; sister, Madeline Fochtman, of New Baltimore; sister, Emma Steach, of Everett.

Bernice is preceded in death by a son, Terry Diehl; and a sister, Frances “Toni” Hillegass.

Bernice worked as a waitress at Landmark Restaurant, Bedford. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore.

Friends will be received on Monday, Jan. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where a Vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, with Father Mark Pattock- Celebrant officiating. Committal at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bernice M.
