Albert F. Hast, 79, of Hyndman, went to be with the Lord Monday Feb. 4, 2019, at his home.
Born Dec. 24, 1939, in Cumberland, Md., he was a son of the late John L. and Alice (Twigg) Hast Bittner.
Survived by his wife of 55 years, Ella Jean “Jeanie” (Dwire) Hast, whom he married July 4, 1963; son, John Hast and wife, Kim, of Hyndman; daughter, Amy Jo Hast Peer of Washington; grandchildren, Cole Hast, Kira Watson, Alby Watson, John Watson and wife, Sierra, and Trevor Watson.
Al was a graduate of Fort Hill, Maryland, and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from CSX Railroad in 1999 after 40 years. He was a member of the Cumberland Masonic Lodge 100. He was a Ham operator call sign W3KDC and life member of the Radio Club. He enjoyed Westerns and his faithful dog, Zoey.
Friends will be received at the Grace United Methodist Church, 222 Schellsburg Street, Hyndman, on Friday, Feb. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Fred Zickefoose officiating.
Burial will be private at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Md.
