Monday is the last day to register to vote.

Monday, Oct. 19, is the last day to register to vote prior to the Nov. 3 election. You must be 18 and a resident of Pennsylvania not less than 30 days before the election. For information on how to register, visit www.votespa.com.

The Bedford County Pink Ribbon Fund fundraiser is tonight.

The event to raise funds to promote breast cancer awareness will be held at the Bedford County Fairgrounds beginning at 4 p.m. The $15 tickets, that include a meal prepared by the Bedford American Legion, are sold out. However, tickets will be available at the gate for $5 per person that includes other activities such as live music with “Zupe,” the Body Language Dancers, vendors and the film “The Addams Family” on the screen at the Silver Lining Drive-In.

Pumpkinfest continues at Old Bedford Village.

The month-long schedule of activities continues this weekend. Make a scarecrow, carve a pumpkin, put stickers on a pumpkin, make a candle, basket or do a tin throughout the weekends. This weekend’s activities includes a tractor display. Old Bedford Village is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and admission is $10 for adults and anyone 14 and under is free. A blood drive is set for Monday.

Bedford Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 9391 Lincoln Highway, Bedford, will host a blood drive Monday from 12:30 to 6 p.m. at its social hall. The event is in memory of Carol Stoltzfus, who died in 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Donors should call 1-800-REDCROSS (733-2767) or visit RedCrossBlood.org to schedule an appointment.

Southampton Historical Society will host its annual picnic and hike on Oct. 18 at Sweet Root Park.

The picnic will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the hike at 2 p.m. Food will be available for a donation to the historical society. All donations will go toward the Point Pleasant Renovation Project. The school will be open for attendees to view recent progress. Call 784-3216 for more information. For the hike, people can stay at the park and learn more about the French & Indian War era in a presentation titled “Muzzleloaders and Fiddles, take the hike up the mountain to Salt Petre Cave or take a short walk to explore what remains of the CCC camp.

If you are looking for a pet, the Bedford County Humane Society and Thomas Chevrolet-Subaru will host and Adopt-A-Pet event Saturday.

Pets from the Humane Society’s shelter will be on hand 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the dealership along Business 220 north of Bedford. Free pet ID tags will be available, along with basket raffles, food by Mickey Jo’s Cheese Steaks, craft vendors and free car washes for those who donate pet food, kitty litter, cleaning supplies or money.
