No one was injured Thursday morning when a Chestnut Ridge school bus and a car collided in East St. Clair Township.

The Chestnut Ridge school bus was carrying about 35 students ranging in age from 5 to 16, according to a state police report. The crash happened about 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of Valley and Crissman roads. The school bus, operated by Henry A. Hillegass of Bedford, was eastbound on Crissman Road. A Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Vincent P. Free of Manns Choice was southbound on Valley Road. Police said the school bus proceeded into the intersection without proper clearance and was struck by the Cavalier. No injuries were reported to either driver or any of the students, police said. Neither vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

A Hyndman woman suffered suspected serious injury when she was struck by a vehicle recently in Londonderry Township.

The incident happened Jan. 1 about 12:30 a.m. near 1966 Hyndman Road about three miles south of Hyndman Borough, state police said. A Dodge Caravan was southbound on the road and Destiny Swick, 21, was walking south on the road. Police said Swick was walking near the double yellow line of the roadway. The driver of the minivan, Christina L. Kelley, 42, of Cumberland, Maryland, saw the pedestrian appear out of the fog, police said, walking south. The vehicle struck Swick with its left driver’s side. Swick traveled 20 yards before coming to rest. The minivan traveled off the road on the western side.

A New Enterprise man was arrested for drug possession recently.

State police said Tanner Brunner, 26, was encountered during the serving of a warrant Dec. 18. Brunner was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. Brunner was placed in the Bedford County Correctional Facility on a parole violation and was arraigned on the charges.

A Breezewood man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Dennis Hockenberry, 51, was charged after state police investigated an incident Nov. 13 along South Breezewood Road, East Providence Township.

A Claysburg man was cited for harassment following a Dec. 30 incident.

According to state police, Larry Claar, 38, slapped a cellphone from the hand of Judith Claar, 71, during a verbal altercation about 5:50 p.m. at 317 Picnic Road. The altercation was started about a discussion about burning garbage on shared property, police said.

A Hopewell man was cited for harassment involving a 4-year-old Dec. 28.

George Christopher, 33, allegedly picked up the boy by his arms and yelled at him during an incident about 12:05 p.m. along Imlertown Road, Bedford Township, state police said.

A Hyndman area woman was duped out of more than $1,500 recently.

An unknown person accessed the 68-year-old Southampton Township, Somerset County, woman’s bank account and issued fraudulent checks, state police reported. The sum of the theft was $1,539. The incident occurred on Nov. 7, police said.
