A Breezewood man sustained minor injuries in a crash at the turnpike entrance.
State police said Jason S. Hess, 40, was eastbound when a pickup driven by Michael E. Perkins, 62, of Foster, Ky., pulled in front of Hess while making a turn. Police said both vehicles had to be towed. Perkins was unhurt. The crash was reported at 1:45 p.m. Jan. 7.
A Hyndman man was arrested on an out-of-state warrant.
State police said they were notified by Maryland’s C3I to check an address on Clarence Street for Travis Troutman, 32. Police said they found Troutman at the residence and he was taken into custody without incident at 3:23 p.m. Jan. 6. He was arraigned and was remanded to the Bedford County Jail to await extradition, police said.
A Bedford man was charged with marijuana possession.
State police said Dustin Miller, 35, was arrested following a traffic stop at 8:53 p.m. Dec. 29 at the intersection of East Penn and East Pitt streets in Bedford Township. Police said Miller also was suspected of being under the influence.
A Breezewood woman escaped injury in a snow-related crash.
State police said Tina K. Weist, 53, was northbound on Mountain Chapel Road in East Providence Township about 1:24 p.m. Jan. 7 when she lost control of her car at the bottom of a steep decline. The car crossed the center line and struck the inside wall of a bridge and came to rest in a ditch.
An East Providence Township man is facing a drug charge.
State police said they responded to a welfare check on Jason Ramper, 39, of Breezewood at 4:53 p.m. Jan. 8, and found him to be in possession of suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
A Somerset County man was accused of illegally dumping trash.
State police said Eric Bock, 47, of Cairnbrook dumped trash at the Schellsburg Subway at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 7 and was charged with theft of services.
One driver suffered a suspected minor injury in a crash in Londonderry Township.
State police said a car driven by Roxanne Umstot, 55, of Hyndman was southbound on Route 96 when she lost control. The car slid into the path of a northbound car driven by Linda Miller, 70, of Hyndman. Police said Umstot’s car then struck a car driven by Eric S. Merkel, 48, of Hyndman. Police said Miller was taken to Western Maryland Medical Center by Shawnee Valley Ambulance with a suspected minor injury. The crash was reported at 11:42 a.m. Jan. 7.
An Everett woman wasn’t hurt in a crash in Snake Spring Township.
State police said Hannah G. Dicken, 18, was westbound on Route 30 and lost control on a curve due to ice conditions. The car hit an embankment and came to rest blocking the right lane of Route 30. The crash was reported at 7:41 a.m. Jan. 5.
A Breezewood woman escaped injury in a crash on the Everett Bypass.
State police said Natasha D. Felten, 26, was westbound when she lost control of her car and slid off the highway. The car struck a ditch and rolled over. The crash happened at 1:41 p.m. Jan. 7.
A Clearville man reported a trespasser.
State police said Joseph Abell, 62, notified them that an unknown male looked through the windows of outbuildings on Abell’s property at 2:37 p.m. Jan. 5. Police said nothing was taken or damaged, and noted that Abell’s property was posted as no trespassing.
An ignition switch was stolen.
State police said the switch for a Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen from a location on Clear Ridge Road in West Providence Township between Dec. 26 and Dec. 30.
A Bedford man was accused of harassment by threats.
State police said they investigated a report of harassment between Larry Bishop, 34, of Bedford, and William Leader, 72, of Everett. Police determined that Bishop physically threatened Leader at his residence along Calhoun Road. The incident was reported at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 9.
No one was hurt in a three-vehicle crash near Everett.
State police said a pickup driven by Delmer D. Donovan, 19, of Breezewood, was southbound on 4th Avenue, West Providence Township, about 10:10 a.m. Jan. 8. Police said Donovan was traveling too fast for conditions and struck the rear of a stationary pickup driven by Larry K. Claar of Manns Choice, who was waiting to make a left turn and a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Dennis Millin, 69, of Confluence. The Donovan and Claar vehicles sustained disabling damage, while the Millen vehicle had minor damage, police said. The crash happened about 10:10 a.m. Jan. 8.
A Bedford woman wasn’t hurt in a crash in Colerain Township.
State police said a car driven by Kelly J. Batzel, 47, was northbound on Main Road when the car went off the roadway and hit a utility pole. Police said Batzel was driving too fast for conditions. Bedford Fire Department assisted at the scene of the crash, reported at 11:35 a.m. Jan. 8.
