Stooges Patio

Stooges Pub and Grub is restaurant on 5817 Business 220, Bedford, that has been around for five years.

During that time the business has gone through a bit of a facelift with remodeling projects.

The most recent addition is a covered outdoor patio.

“It has taken us three years to get to where we are now,” said manager Shellie Baldinger.

With the changes, the establishment went from a bar to a family-oriented and smoke-free restaurant.

“The atmosphere here is kid friendly and low-key,” said Baldinger. “People come in and drink a couple of beers with their meal. It’s not like the old days with crazy fights; nothing like that, it is a restaurant.”

With the growing restaurant, they knew that there was a need for more space.

“We are pretty small, and we knew as it was progressing we needed more tables and seating,” said Baldinger.

Construction on the patio space was not planned because of COVID, but they did start it in March of last year right before everything shut down due to the pandemic.

“The patio just worked out perfectly for us,” said Baldinger.

They finished construction on the patio last month.

“Eventually we are going to close that in and expand the dining room area, and then add another deck on after that,” said Baldinger. “That is the plan but Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Stooges offers all kinds of food on their menu including, burgers, wings, sandwiches, pizza, stromboli, fried food, salads, and they are always new items.

“Every day we have tons of daily specials, and always changing things up,” said Baldinger.

The restaurant is closed on Mondays; then they open at 11 a.m. Tuesday to Saturday, and open at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

“We usually close around 8 p.m., depending on the volume, if it is busy we will stay open longer,” said Baldinger.

There is take-out and dine in service available now, and delivery available on orders of six or more with one day advance notice.

The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration for the new patio space at 4:30 p.m. on April 22, and the Masked Mixer finale after that at 5:30 p.m.
