Traffic changes on the Hopewell Bridge replacement project.
PennDOT said prime contractor HRI Inc., of State College was to adjust traffic patterns on Wednesday as part of the Hopewell Borough project. A traffic change was to result in the removal of one set of temporary traffic signals and placing traffic onto two lanes of the new alignment on Route 26. Temporary traffic signals on Routes 26 and 915 for single-lane phased traffic control at the intersection will remain. Delays may be possible as signals cycle. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area by watching for workers and equipment moving in and out of the work area. Overall work on the project consists of the replacement of the Hopewell bridge that carries Route 915 over the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, realignment of Route 26, construction of retaining walls along the river, rock slope stabilization, and slope lay back operations. Work is expected to be completed by mid-August.
