Historical society’s quarterly meeting is postponed.
Due to the forecast for inclement weather, the Bedford County Historical Society has canceled its quarterly meeting, scheduled for Saturday, along with a presentation by Jared Frederick on “The Dispatches of D-Day.” The society will reschedule the meeting at a later date.
The weather forecast has prompted the postponement of the Saturday’s Chili and Soup Cookoff.
The popular Downtown Bedford Inc. event had been scheduledd to begin at 11 a.m. But with all-day rain or snow in the forecast, the event has been moved to Feb. 22. About 14 vendors had been scheduled to take part, and entertainment was to be provided. Tickets are $20 and are available online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/feel-the-heat-chili-soup-cookoff-tickets-84783231929 and at Juli’s Wearable Art and HeBrew’s.
The Bedford County Conservation District Seedling and Fruit Tree Sale is up and running.

The Bedford County Veterans Affairs Office is looking for volunteer van drivers.
The agency needs drivers for the van that takes veterans to Altoona for VA appointments. Those interested are asked to contact the Veteran Affairs Office for an application or for more information at 623-4848.
