Special event for FFA members, past and present, planned.

Bedford County Technical Center’s FFA Chapter is teaming up with Scott Stover Photography to celebrate past and present FFA members in conjunction with National FFA Week, Feb. 20-27. Present and former FFA members are invited to stop by the Hall at Kinton’s Knob between 1 and 8 p.m. Feb. 27 to have their photos taken. FFA members, past and present, are asked to bring their FFA jackets along, even if they no longer fit. No appointments are necessary. Girl Scout information sought.

Local Girl Scout groups are invited to submit current information and photos for this year’s “Salute to Girl Scouts” to be published in March. Information can be emailed to vhenry@bedfordgazette.com. The deadline to submit items is 5 p.m. on March 1. People pictured in photographs must be identified in the order they appear.

Children invited to register for series.

Registration for Bedford Area Healthy Kids Running Series is open for children ages 2-14. Register at https://runsignup.com/hkrsbedford or email hkrsbedford@gmail.com for more information. Early bird registration is $35 through March 21, when it increases to $40. Races are Sundays at 4 p.m. at Snake Spring Recreation Park from April 11 through May 9.

Street fair food will be served.

Shawnee Valley Fire Company will serve drive-thru street fair food at the fire hall from noon to 5 p.m., or until sold out, Feb. 27. There will be ox roast sandwiches, haluski, beef noodles and fresh cut fries.
