Bulky Waste Day drop scheduled.

The drop for King, Kimmel, East St. Clair and Lincoln townships and St. Clairsville Borough will be held from 7 a.m. to noon May 1 at the King Township Building, located behind the Imler fire hall. Library has expanded its hours.

The Bedford County Library is now open Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The facility is closed on Sundays. Social distancing and masking will be enforced. The library will continue to deliver books to patrons homes. Call 814-623-5010 to have books delivered to a home.

DBI to host fundraiser.

Downtown Bedford Inc. will host a Glow Golf fundraiser at the Bedford Elks Country Club at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 1. Registration will begin at 7:15 p.m. The fundraiser will benefit beautification and maintenance projects in the downtown area. State Farm agents Michael Meehan and Matt Randall are the sponsors for this event. The golf game course will include nine holes for $50 per person, which includes cart, glow golf materials and hot dogs. Limited tickets are available by visiting the Bedford Elks or stopping by at the Randall’s office at 645 E. Pitt St. or Meehan’s office at 133 S. Richard St., Bedford.

Banquet scheduled.

Americanism banquet will be hosted by the Bedford American Auxiliary Unit 113 on April 7 at the American Legion Post, Business Route 220, Bedford. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. with a brief program to follow. Advancement of Color will occur at 5:45 p.m., so people should arrive about 5:30 p.m. The banquet is open to the public.

Fundraiser to benefit humane society.

Bert Arnold of Schellsburg is raising money for the Bedford County Humane Society in memory of three loved ones who have passed away. Joey Fetter, her son, died in 2010; good friend Jarod Wright died in 2009 of the swine flu; and nephew Darin Smith died in 2019 in a traffic accident. All donations will be given directly to the humane society, and donors’ names, whether individual or business, will appear in the Gazette on April 30. Checks, payable to the Bedford County Humane Society, can be mailed to Bert Arnold, 126 Pinewoods Road, Schellsburg, PA 15559. The deadline for donations is April 15.
