Local Girl Scout groups are invited to submit current information and photos for this year’s “Salute to Girl Scouts” to be published in March. Information can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to submit items is 5 p.m. on March 1. People pictured in photographs must be identified in the order they appear.
Retired employees to meet.
Blair, Bedford, Huntingdon Chapter of the PA Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE) will meet at 11:30 a.m. May 18 at the American Legion Social Hall, Hollidaysburg. A catered luncheon will be available at noon, before the business session and program. A meeting notice with all the details will be sent to members. Children invited to register for series.
Registration for Bedford Area Healthy Kids Running Series is open for children ages 2-14. Register at https://runsignup.com/hkrsbedford or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Early bird registration is $35 through March 21, when it increases to $40. Races are Sundays at 4 p.m. at Snake Spring Recreation Park from April 11 through May 9.
Street fair food will be served.
Shawnee Valley Fire Company will serve drive-thru street fair food at the fire hall from noon to 5 p.m., or until sold out, Feb. 27. There will be ox roast sandwiches, haluski, beef noodles and fresh cut fries.
Fish Fry Fridays open in Imler.
The fish fry dinners will be served by the Imler Area Volunteer Fire Company Feb. 26, March 5, 12, 19, 26, from 4 p.m. until sold out. Cost for the drive-thru, take-out only meals will be $13 each. Meals will include baked fish, fried fish, french fries, baked potato, mac and cheese, stewed tomatoes, cole slaw and roll.
