Sea Scout Ship 4481 SSS Mako hosted an inaugural admission ceremony on Nov. 13 at its charter organization, the Bedford United Methodist Church. Sea Scouts is a co-ed, high adventure, water-based program offered by the Boy Scouts of America for youth ages 14 to 20.

As part of the program, the Scouts also completed the National Rifle Association’s Marksmanship Program with Jeff Eisaman at Centerpoint Training.

They plan to learn scuba diving and sail boating next summer.

The Sea Scout Ship meets on Thursday evenings at the Bedford United Methodist Church. Girls and boys ages 14 to 20 are eligible to join.
