A Florida man was assaulted at a truck stop in Breezewood.
Joseph Stoll, 56, of New Port Richey, Florida, reported that a black man struck him in the face, knocking him to the ground, then repeatedly struck him about 4 a.m. May 4 at the Flying J Truck Stop, 167 Post House Road. State police said the suspect was described as about 5-foot-6. He fled the scene in a tractor-trailer.
A Georgia man was charged with theft of services.
State police said Brant Odom, 40, of Doerun, Georgia, stayed at the Quality Inn, 16621 Lincoln Highway, Breezewood, on May 13 and left without paying for his room. The value of the room was $128.
A Manns Choice woman reported identity theft.
State police said the 26-year-old reported unknown suspects used her identity to open a cellphone account on May 6.
A Saxton woman was scammed online.
State police said a 72-year-old Saxton woman lost money through an online scam between April 26 and May 2. Police reminded all residents to be cautious when receiving phone calls that offer to refund money into your bank account, and those that request payments in the form of gift cards. Police said to not provide any personal information to those requesting to submit a refund directly into a bank account.
A Schellsburg man was charged with theft.
State police said Michael Wolf, 31, allegedly stole $212 from the Omni Bedford Springs Resort Pro Shop. The manager of the hotel reported Wolf, a former employee, had left the Pro Shop for a personal reason and never returned the $212 for his start up bank.
Two women were cited for harassment.
State police said Hannah Snyder, 19, of Saxton, and Ariel Carrow, 21, of Riddlesburg, were involved in a physical altercation about 6:40 p.m. May 9 at 1600 Wall St., Liberty Township. Police said both women had minor injuries from pulling hair and scratches on their necks.
A Claysburg man was charged with DUI.
State police said Noris Preis, 33, was charged following an 11 p.m. traffic stop April 12 along Business 220 near Landmark Road, Bedford Township. Police said Preis was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance.
A New Paris man was charged with DUI.
Kyle Felix, 26, was arrested for suspected DUI during a 1:45 a.m. traffic stop April 13 along the 1800 block of Cortland Road in Schellsburg, according to state police.
An Alum Bank woman was charged with possessing marijuana.
State police said Angela Burkey, 40, was found to be in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia after she was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Polecat Road in Greenfield Township, Blair County, about 4:20 p.m. May 3.
A Bedford man was charged with DUI.
State police said Cody Tew, 20, was arrested for suspected DUI about 9:30 p.m. April 13 along East Pitt Street.
No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash.
State police said a vehicle driven by Alexis A. Thompson, 31, of James Creek, crashed into an oncoming vehicle driven by Mathew L. Stoudnour, 40, of Saxton, at the intersection of Raystown and Seven Points roads about 6:30 p.m. May 9. Thompson was cited for a stop sign violation.
A Bedford man was charged with DUI.
State police said James Bywater, 40, was found allegedly under the influence of alcohol in the parking lot of Rite Aid, 894 June Drive, Taylor Township, Blair County, about 10:15 p.m. April 30.
Two were arrested during a traffic stop in Hyndman.
State police said Calvin Martz, 30, of Hyndman, was arrested for suspected DUI during a stop about 4:50 p.m. April 28 along Church Street. Traci Saunders, 33, of Cumberland, Maryland, was arrested on a bench warrant and was found to be in possession of marijuana.
A Defiance woman was charged with harassment.
State police said Jessica Showalter, 25, was arrested after police responded to 341 Fox Street, Broad Top Township, about 11:30 p.m. April 28 for reports of a domestic dispute with her father. Police said a probation detainer was obtained on Showalter, and she attempted to resist arrest. Police said Showalter also made lewd comments while she was in the back of the patrol car.
An Everett man was charged with harassment.
State police said Timothy Rainey, 44, allegedly knocked a 28-year-old woman down and tried to take her keys so she could not leave the home during a physical altercation at 413 S. River Lane, Everett, about 8 a.m. May 6. The woman got free and locked herself in the bathroom and called police.
