A Johnstown man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

State police said Jason Piurkowsky, 23, was found in possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia during a traffic stop along Route 30 in West Providence Township about 12:30 p.m. July 7.

No one was injured in a one vehicle crash.

State police said Ashley E. Burkhart, 25, of Cumberland swerved to miss several deer on Bedford Valley Road about 9:30 p.m. July 7 and crashed into a ditch. Neither Burkhart nor a passenger, Clifton R. Lee of LaVale, Maryland, were injured.

An Everett man was arrested for suspected DUI.

State police said Thomas Grab, 19, was arrested for suspected DUI during a traffic stop at the intersection of Raystown Road and Pinchot Road about 6:40 p.m. June 30.

No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash.

State police said a vehicle driven by Mark A. Blackburn, 31, of Schellsburg, struck the back of a vehicle driven by Juan J. Abreu, 43, of New Brunswick, New Jersey, about 5:40 p.m. July 5. Police said Abreu was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Country Ridge Road and Blackburn was unable to stop before rear-ending the vehicle. Blackburn was cited for following too closely.

State police are investigating a retail theft at Dollar General in Hyndman.

An unknown man stole a package of men’s underwear by placing the item in the front of his pants about 3:45 p.m. June 9, police said. The manager of the store described the suspect as a Black male in his late teens or early 20s, tall, with a thin build, and goes by the name “Dee.” Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 623-6133.

A Hyndman man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

State police said Brian Iman, 47, was charged following an incident along Hyndman Road in Londonderry Township about 10:20 a.m. June 15. Police responded to the location after receiving an anonymous tip concerning drug possession.

A tractor-trailer was stolen.

State police said a blue 2002 Peterbilt truck and a silver/aluminum Reitnouer drop-deck trailer were stolen from a 40-year-old Imler man along William Penn Road on June 12.
