A Delaware man is accused of entering a Breezewood home after crashing his car along Lincoln Highway.
Ishmail B.O. Thompson, 27, of Newark, Delaware, on Wednesday waived his right to a preliminary hearing on felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass.
State police filed charges against Thompson on June 2 after he was found sitting on the front porch of the home of Lynn A. and Starla L. Decker along the 16000 block of Lincoln Highway in Breezewood.
Police received a report of a black man pounding on the front door of a home along Mountain Chapel Road in Breezewood about 11:30 a.m. that morning.
The complainant watched the man walk toward Route 30 and later attempted to follow him in his car, eventually finding a crashed vehicle with a Delaware license plate nearby.
Police said the vehicle was registered to Thompson.
When police responded to the scene, they received another complaint that the man was seen entering the Deckers’ nearby home. Police responded to the Decker home and found Thompson sitting on a chair on the front porch. Police said Thompson was bloody at the time and refused to provide any information about himself or why he entered the home.
The Deckers told police they were at church and had left their front door open, documents said. Nothing was reported stolen from the home.
Thompson is lodged in the Bedford County Correctional Facility on $65,000 straight bail.
