A circus sideshow attraction promises to entertain spectators with a variety of acts and tricks at the Bedford County Fair this year.
“Daring Dave” Willacker and “Beautiful Brandi” Clark of the Cincinnati Circus Carnival Sideshow will perform three shows daily from Monday through Friday. The act will be near the Petting Zoo.
The circus company describes the family friendly acts as both “weird and amazing.”
Willacker started the circus after serving as a youth minister for two years and a high school teacher for a decade.
He performs acting, juggling, stilt walking, fire eating, magic, balloon animals, fire performances, unicycle and stage combat during his role as ringmaster of the circus. He takes many of those acts to the stage during the sideshow performance.
Willacker has been in theater since kindergarten and has performed in shows like the Ohio Renaissance Festival, where he first learned to juggle.
In 2011 he directed the Cincinnati Circus’ first touring show — the city’s first hometown circus in more than a century.
Clark entertains crowds with fire performances, walking on glass, the bed of swords and nails and other feats.
The “campy, funny and painful” sideshow event calls for some audience participation.
The sideshow has performed at universities, corporate events, fairs and carnivals.
