The Bedford County Chamber of Commerce will hand out 17 awards to businesses, organizations and individuals during its annual awards celebration Nov. 21 at the Bedford County Airport.
The Chamber will recognize a variety of accomplishments among its business community and organizations. It also will honor individuals for their volunteer efforts.
“The Chamber’s annual dinner is the signature celebration of our diverse and outstanding business community,” said President/CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer in a news release. “We look forward to honoring this year’s recipients as part of an evening of thanking our members and partners for all they do throughout the year.”
The evening also will include the awarding of the prestigious Athena Award, sponsored by Bedford BPW and Thomas Dealerships. The Chamber partners with BCDA, the Bedford County Visitors Bureau and Bedford County Community Connections to present awards for economic development, excellence in tourism and a commitment to hiring people with disabilities.
The theme of the evening will be “Come Fly With Us,” a nod to the music, style and glamour of air travel of the 1950s and ’60s. The evening will begin with a reception that will also include an extensive text-to-bid silent auction. New this year, the auction will be extended through the Chamber’s Holiday Open House on Dec. 12, allowing greater exposure for the participating donors and for bidding by those who are not able to attend the banquet. The Chamber website will have more information soon, the news release said.
Soaring Eagle Productions will provide audio-visual services, including the production of the pre-recorded acceptance speeches with lighting and special effects support from ENCORE.
Sponsorships and registrations for the celebration are limited.
Cost to attend is $89 per person, and registration is required.
