The Fulton County Historical Society will hold its annual dinner auction Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Needmore Bible Church.
A silent auction will run from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with a ham/turkey dinner served at 6 p.m. followed by a traditional auction at 6:30 p.m.
Auction items include an oak cedar-lined chest by Snyder’s Woodworking, Dwight D. Eisenhower painting “Deserted Barn” print on canvas, refurbished Ephraim Lake ladder back chair, Pittsburgh Pirates tickets, 1800’s yarn winder, 1800’s spinning wheel, handcrafted quilts, decorative hand-crafted items, cast iron dinner bell, sporting goods, framed prints, homemade baked goods, jewelry, gift certificates, and much more.
The historical society is still actively soliciting contributions for both auctions. Donations may be dropped off at Everett Marble and Granite Office, the Fulton County Treasurer’s office, or at state Rep. Jesse Topper’s office at 421 LWE, McConnellsburg. Tickets, at $15 each, are also available at these locations. Also a donor may make arrangements for pick-up by calling 717-573-2805, 717-372-0061, 717-658-9666, or 717-830-5953.
The auction will benefit needed repairs and upkeep of the historical society’s annex (old G.C. Murphy building) and on-going improvements. Donations are tax deductible and receipts will be provided for tax records.
