Everett Area Fund’s annual Trivia Night Challenge will be held Jan. 18, starting at 7 p.m., at the Masonic Temple, Main Street, Everett. Teams can include up to six players. Federated Library System of Bedford County will host a “Roaring ’20s” themed book tasting event from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Golden Eagle Inn, Bedford. Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Bedford is showcasing an exhibit featuring works highlighting American artists. The exhibit will be open in two of the museum’s galleries through Jan. 12. The museum is located in the historic Anderson House at 137 E. Pitt St. and is open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The museum is closed Tuesdays. Cost of admission is $10 per person or free admission for ages 21 and under and 65 and older and SAMA members. The museum offers free admission for Bedford residents on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. Parking is available on the street or in the lot at the rear of the building. Off Pitt Street Theater Company is hosting its fifth annual OPS Open Playwriting Contest and accepting entries from all authors through Feb. 1. Each writer may submit a new, unpublished, one-act play for judging. Cost of submission is $10 per entry. Entry fee waivers are available for students enrolled in elementary, middle or high school. Off Pitt Street will produce the first-and second-place winning entries and highlight the third-place selection at its “Winner’s Showcase” in the spring. Pennsylvania Consort’s 2019-2020 Guest Artist Series concerts include Allegheny String Quartet, 7:30 p.m. March 28, Trinity Lutheran Church; Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. April 4, Bedford Presbyterian Church; Washington Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. May 2, St. John’s United Church of Christ. All of the concert locations are handicapped accessible. Tickets are general admission with no assigned seating.
