Bedford County Players Season Gala on May 9 at The Hall At Kinton’s Knob has been canceled. Along with the cancellation of the gala, the 2020 season opener of “Clue: On Stage” and the June musical “Willy Wonka” have been canceled for the 2020 season. The two productions will be added to Player’s 2021 season. Cruise-ins will be hosted by the Fort Bedford Antique Automobile Club of America from 4 to 7 p.m. June 13 at Happy Hollow Restaurant, 10924 Raystown Road, Saxton, and July 26 and Aug. 16 at Landmark Restaurant, 647 E. Pitt St., Bedford. All makes and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles welcomed.

Tickets are on sale now for the 5th Annual Winner’s Showcase at 7 p.m. May 21 and May 22 and 3 p.m. May 23 at Off Pitt Street Theater, Bedford. The showcase will feature the world premier of the first- and second-place winners and a detailed preview of the third-place winner from the annual One Act, play-writing competition. This year’s winners are “Double Blind,” a lighthearted comedy of contrived identities, by Anna Lauffer, first place; “noreturn,” explores a mid-life crisis in the marriage of Adam and Eve, by Heather Koontz, second place; and “Hold for Hell,” a dark comedy set during Prohibition, by Mattea Harrison, third place. Children’s auditions for Off Pitt Street Theater’s production of “Millie Monka & the Salmon Cannery” will be held sometime in June. More details will be announced at a later date.

Contra dance, similar to a square dance, to benefit Fix a Pet low-cost spay and neuter clinics has been postponed. Organizers will provide information at a later date once the dance has been rescheduled.

Pennsylvania Consort’s 2019-2020 Guest Artist Series concerts will end for the season with a 7:30 p.m. May 2 concert by Washington Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble at St. John’s United Church of Christ. Tickets are general admission with no assigned seating. Venue doors open at 6:45 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for students and are available for purchase at the Bedford County Visitors’ Bureau in Bedford and at Lowers Pharmacy in Everett. Tickets purchased at the door cost $12 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are also available for purchase online through the website, www.paconsort.org/events, at $10 for adults and $4 for students, plus a small processing fee. Patrons can print their tickets or show their confirmation purchase on their phones when they arrive.

Bedford Arts Cooperative’s first “Spring into Books” festival, which includes the student juried art show and the atomic radio performance, on April 25 has been postponed. All registered author and vendor spaces will be reserved for the new festival date. If an author or vendor cannot attend on the new date, a refund of the registration fee will be issued. The cooperative’s events, as well as events hosted by Off Pitt Street Theater Company, for May are tentative.
