Pennsylvania Consort’s 2019-2020 Guest Artist Series is under way. Upcoming concerts include Maryland State Boyschoir, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16, at St. John’s United Church of Christ; Allegheny String Quartet, 7:30 p.m. March 28, Trinity Lutheran Church; Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. April 4, Bedford Presbyterian Church; Washington Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. May 2, St. John’s United Church of Christ. All of the concert locations are handicapped accessible. Tickets are general admission with no assigned seating. Venue doors open at 6:45 p.m. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for students and are available for purchase at the Bedford County Visitors’ Bureau in Bedford and at Lowers Pharmacy in Everett. Tickets purchased at the door cost $12 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are also available for purchase online through the website, www.paconsort.org/events, at $10 for adults and $4 for students, plus a small processing fee. Patrons can print their tickets or show their confirmation purchase on their phones when they arrive.

Volunteer chorus for the 32nd-year “Messiah” concert in December will rehearse from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7, Nov. 14, and Dec. 5 at the Bedford Presbyterian Church and Dec. 13 at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church. There also will be an afternoon rehearsal Dec. 14 at the Chestnut Ridge church, where the performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14. Everett’s Home for Christmas Celebration will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 30, Small Business Saturday. The Everett Area Better Business Association New Ideas Committee will host Everett’s Holiday Celebration. The parade will return this year and will start at 3 p.m. It will travel on Main Street from the high school to Juniata Street. Main Street will be lined with vendors, live music and organizations with activities. The tree lighting in the old gazebo area will occur at 5:45 p.m., with silent fireworks ending the evening. The home decorating committee will be branching out to homes in the 15537 zip code area. Parking meters are available to be “Holidazzled,” and luminaries will be available for donation again to light the night and honor someone special or a business. “Politics can be Murder,” an interactive murder mystery fundraiser, will be presented by Off Pitt Street Theater Company, the Bedford Arts Cooperative and the Helen B. Hughes Foundation of Democratic Women at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at Locality Gallery. Guests will mingle, play games and complete challenges to win clues, interview high-profile personalities and solve a murder. The evening will feature music by “The Zillion Dollar Combo.” Tickets are limited and by pre-sale only. Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Proceeds benefit the Helen B.
