Students earn scholarships

The Bedford County Regional Education Foundation announces that the following students were awarded scholarships to attend the Allegany College of Maryland Bedford County Campus: Codi Clapper, Buffalo Mills, Zachary Claycomb, Everett, Dick M. Pepple Memorial Scholarship; Brook Troutman, Hopewell, Kiley Ross, Osterburg, John H. Jordan Memorial Scholarship; Christy Carbaugh, Hopewell, Benjamin Heidorn, Bedford, Alison Shinall, Everett, Memorial Hospital of Bedford County Foundation Scholarship; Cameron Painter, Breezewood, New Hope Foundation Scholarship in Memory of Terry Jo Caro; Ryan Kisner, Everett, Anna Steele, Martinsburg, Pay It Forward Scholarship; Brianna Mobley, Everett, Peggy Detwiler Gates Memorial Scholarship; Christy Carbaugh, Hopewell, Pennsylvania Student Scholarship; and Christy Carbaugh, Hopewell, Representative Dick L. Cain awarded scholarship

Madison Cain of Everett has earned the Paul C. Owens Memorial Scholarship at Allegany College of Maryland. The scholarship is awarded by the Allegany College of Maryland Foundation, which helps students achieve their educational goals by offering more than 2,500 scholarships annually. The college offers an online scholarship application. Scholarships are awarded based on criteria determined by the scholarship benefactor. Nine named to list

Nine local residents have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Slippery Rock University. Students must achieve at least a 3.5 grade-point average to be named to the list. Local students include Wayne Bloom from Everett, Leah Davidson from Bedford, Shay Decker from Everett, Sierra Foor from Roaring Spring, Olivia Horton from Everett, Megan Kaufman from Alum Bank, Hope Kaufman from Alum Bank, Tori Steel from Everett and Desiree Willey from Roaring Spring.
