State dairy qualifiers

Fourteen dairy exhibitors from Bedford County will represent the area at the Pennsylvania State Junior Dairy Show Sept. 14 in Harrisburg.

The 14 young people earned the trip to states with strong showings at the Southwest District Dairy Show, held Aug. 2 at Morrison Cove Memorial Park, Martinsburg. Sixty dairy exhibitors and 109 animals from Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Somerset and Westmoreland counties participated. Josh Sanders from Littlestown was the type judge.

Exhibitors who received blue ribbons are eligible to move on to the Pennsylvania State Junior Dairy Show in Harrisburg on Sept. 14. Bedford County youth moving on to the state level include Blake Bish, Bella Gable, Blair Gable and Aaron Sams, all members of the Friendly Moo Moo’s 4-H Club.

FFA members eligible for the state level include Delanee Cessna, Marlee Mearkle and Samantha VanPelt, members of Bedford County FFA; Chase Eller, Jordan Helsley, Allie Snider, Eion Snider, Lily Stenning and Kelli Wyles, members of Northern Bedford FFA, and Macy Walason, member of Chestnut Ridge FFA.
