Everett Sportsmen’s Club will host a state Game Commission basic hunter/trapper education class at 9 a.m. March 9. Pre-registration online at www.pgc.state.pa.us is required. The class is limited to 50 students. Students must attend the full day class to be certified. Students must be 11 years old by the day of the class to attend. Everett Alumni Association will meet at Kelly’s Restaurant Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m. for dinner and about 6:15 for a business meeting. All alumni are welcome to attend. The association is asking alumni to make sure their newsletter subscriptions are up-to-date.

“Everett Gone But Not Forgotten” is the topic for the February Bloody Run Historical Society display at the Everett Free Library. Historian Barb Miller has gathered materials, including old photos from a former display, to test people’s memories regarding building locations, such as the McDaniel Building, now the Rite Aid, and others. Answers are provided.

Everett Area AYSO Region 1388 online registration will be open through Feb. 28 for children ages 4-18 and volunteers. Register online at ayso.bluesombrero.com/region1388. Registration cost is $45 for the first child and $40 for each additional child. Late registrations will be $60 per child. In person registration will take place at the Everett Free Library, 137 E. Main St., Everett, PA 15537 on Feb. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. To register in person, people will need to bring login information from the previous year, insurance information, doctor’s name, child’s height, weight, shirt size and a valid credit or debit card for payment. VFW Post 2088 in Everett meets on the second Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. All war veterans are invited to join the unit. For more information, call 652-2411. The canteen is open seven days a week, starting at noon.

Memorial scholarship has been started in memory of Tom Waltman, a teacher and former coach in the Everett Area School District. Contributions will be used to help students and athletes in Waltman’s honor. Anyone interested in contributing to the scholarship fund, can make donations at any local BB&T branch office or may call 327-3415 for any further information.
