The Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation presented 24 college students with scholarships totaling $84,000 on Tuesday at the 104th Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg.

Since its start in 1993, the Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than $1.6 million in scholarships to 552 junior Farm Show exhibitors.

Macy Walason, daughter of Jeffrey and Angelique Walason of Alum Bank, was announced as one of the recipients.

Walason, 19, is a 2019 Chestnut Ridge graduate and is currently a freshman studying Agriculture Extension and Education at Penn State University. She works at her family farm, Green Slopes Farm, and the Penn State Swine Center.

Walason was crowned Bedford County Fair queen in 2018.

This year’s recipients were awarded $3,500 each. Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Delaware Valley University awarded an additional $2,000 to their students for receiving the award.
