A hunter was located in Pavia Township after being lost briefly.

A hunter who got lost in the area of of Monument Road in Pavia Township Monday evening was found after emergency responders conducted a brief search. Crews from the Imler, Blue Knob and Alum Bank volunteer fire companies were dispatched about 6:15 p.m. to search for the lost hunter at the request of state police, according to emergency dispatch transmissions. The hunter’s cell phone signal was used to ping to an area about a mile north of the sharp curve in the roadway. The hunter was able to see the emergency vehicle’s lighting from his location on top of a ledge. Officials said the hunter was out of the woods at 7:02 p.m. The man was evaluated by Bedford Ambulance Service and denied treatment, according to emergency dispatch.
