Joseph and Mary Styer were married Nov. 3, 1951, in Downingtown. Their journey started at a young age. They didn’t know at that time what life had in store for them. It’s been an amazing 70 years full of six children, 13 grandsons, one granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, and 10 great-grandsons.

In 1971, the couple purchased a dairy farm and uprooted their family to Bedford, where they still reside. They are since retired and living in a new home on 13 acres of their original property. Joe still likes to be outside taking care of his horse, Dan, or putting around on his tractor. Mary still loves to cook and bake for her family.

Any given day, they can be seen doing what they love best, sitting on their front porch where a sign hangs saying, “Welcome to our porch where wasting time is considered time well wasted.”
