  • 262A PUBLIC NOTICE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Bedford Area School Board, Bedford County, Pennsylvania under the provisions of the Public School Code, has levied a tax for the fiscal school year 2017-2018 of five ($5.00) dollars upon each person eighteen (18) years of age or older residing within the territorial limits of the said school district and a tax at the rate of 9.424 mills of assessed value based upon county assessments of real property in said school district. ALSO TAKE NOTICE that the said Bedford Area School District, under the provisions of the Local Tax Enabling Act, Act 511, has reenacted without change, except as hereinafter set forth, the following tax resolutions for general revenue purposes, and the same taxes are imposed for the fiscal school year 2017-2018. A. A tax of five ($5.00) dollars upon each person eighteen (18) years or older residing within the territorial limits of the school district. B. A tax of one (1%) per cent on earned income of residents of that said school district and one (1%) per cent of net profits of businesses, professions, and other activities conducted by residents of said school district. C. A tax of one (1%) per cent on all real estate transferred within the said school district, under the Authority of the Act of 1965, December 31, P.L. 1257. D. An LST/Emergency Municipal Service tax of ten ($10.00) dollars upon persons that are gainfully employed within the said school district. E. An Act 1 tax of .5% on earned income and net profits earned by resident individuals. Proceeds of this tax will be used to fund property tax relief for approved homestead farmstead properties.
